When Republics Die
Article V Blog ^ | July 8th 2016 | Rodney Dodsworth

A shiver ran through me as I watched James Comey’s clumsy dance around the edges of why Hillary was guilty of selling out her country, yet would not be prosecuted. Could that day, July the 5th, two days into America’s 241st year be the end of the republic established in 1788? Did we witness THE historic moment of the 21st century?

As opposed to authoritarian regimes in which the moment of their deaths is known exactly by the date and time their despots pass on into hell, what of republics? When do republics die?

One of the most famous ancient republics, Sparta, can date its end when it was conquered by the most famous ancient republic, Rome, in 146 BC. What of the Roman republic itself? Did it expire when Caesar crossed the Rubicon with his legions in 49 BC? If not, then it certainly passed by 27 BC when the Senate granted Octavian the title of Augustus and Princeps. As described by Tacitus, subsequent emperors murdered men they suspected of having the slightest tendency toward free government. How many people do you know who died under mysterious circumstances? Bill and Hillary Clinton know lots of them.

Republics have been described as empires of laws. For decades, I just accepted as truth that our republic lived as long as congress sends bills to be signed into law by the president. My view was refined upon reading the radical republican John Locke, who believed republics perish the moment the legislative power is usurped, either by making statutes outside the limits of their charters, or when lawmaking is assigned to a man or institution outside of the legislative.

If that is true, then we’ve been slogging along in a dead republic since the days of FDR when scotus gave its imprimatur to congressional and executive branch powers far outside the limits of the social compact known as our Constitution. Obama rewrites Obamacare to suit his fancy; the EPA and other various agencies make, enforce, and adjudicate regulations with force of law. Even the Leftist Jonathan Turley of George Washington Law School recently warned a congressional committee that republican lawmaking is fast slipping out of the hands of congress.

Against this background of lawmaking outside the lawmaking branch, and thanks to James Comey’s Hillary ruling of July the 5th, the inner workings of our future and despotic government will increasingly take on the characteristics of the old Soviet Union. The poor people of the USSR knew only that which the politburo let them know. Sure, there was a fake legislature in something called the Supreme Soviet, but real decisions were made by a central committee and politburo that called the shots for a nation of hundreds of millions. Government in all authoritarian regimes is conducted in the dark.

With her get-out-of-jail card from Comey, Hillary is not only home-free, but future secretaries of state, other cabinet secretaries, and their assistants (like Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills) are also green-lighted to transact public business in the dark. Like the teenager who gets away without punishment from his parents, our government unfortunately operates far more on the basis of precedent than on the law.

Should the unspeakable happen this coming November, executive branch functions legal and illegal, performed by a naturally reclusive, fearful, vengeful, and psycho Hillary will be in the dark, and completely shut off from any semblance of open, republican, free government view. Like serfs in any authoritarian state, we’ll never know what hits us until it happens. A Hillary congress might not even bother with its embarrassing Kabuki show hearings that typified the Obama years in which various secretaries and high officials committed perjury without punishment.

While I don’t know the exact date, I am certain that the soul of our republic, that of limited lawmaking by a congress of the people and states, no longer exists. One can argue that our republic died in 1913 upon ratification of the 17th Amendment, or during the FDR years, with the advent of a “pen and a phone” president, or on July 5th. No matter exactly when, we know it is gone.

We also know what we must do.

We are the many; our oppressors are the few. Be proactive. Be a Re-Founder. Join Convention of States.

How is this opposed to an authoritarian regime?

OK, ours is more totalitarian.

They all end similarly. Military intervention. Either ours, or someone elses.

The evil central socialist government and Obama has joined Muslim terrorists and are demonstrably the enemies of America.

Crooked Comey gave the green light to kill LEO
and Americans - starting in Dallas.

If Crooked Comey is not removed, America dies.
It is that simple. Crooked Comey is now
the barometer.

The author needs to study his history. Sparta was never a republic. They were a part of the Achaean League, a confederation of independent city states but not really a republic.

Our republic died when President For Life Roosevelt took office on March 4, 1933. He implemented a program called "The New Deal" which was inspired by Benito Mussolini's fascist doctrine. By the time of his death in 1945, while the republican forms were preserved, both major political parties and the largest corporations had been co-opted and the US economy had been re-modeled from a capitalist to a fascist paradigm, The state controlled the economy through regulation and preferred corporate entities were shielded from competition and protected from their own ineptitude by government largess.

By 1979 the education system had been fully co-opted and we are now in the stage of fascist development where religion is being abolished. Mussolini never progressed fascism this far.

As opposed to authoritarian regimes in which the moment of their deaths is known exactly by the date and time their despots pass on into hell, what of republics? When do republics die?

When we failed to prosecute New Black Panther voter intimidation in Philadelphia?

When we failed to prosecute gun running to drug cartels in Mexico?

When we failed to prosecute the mistreatment of our sick military veterans?

When we failed to prosecute the loss of top State secrets?

Excellent post.
Biological death comes in stages.
Here, too, for America.

but protects the corrupt from you -
you know your nation is doomed."

Comeyism: when decent people provide cover for evil.

The get-out-of-jail-free card needs a fresh, slim revamping for the modern era. The name comey is available!

America drank the poison when it ratified the 17th and 19th amendments. Those two slowly but drastically changed the nature of the Republic and guaranteed a totalist end.

Barak Hussein did not “join” the Moslems. He is one, with all that implies. The government entire is run now by Moslems and their string puppets, the sodomites and women who resent being women.

This race war has been building up for the last few years and the hateful, evil, foreign exchange student that now squats on the oval office toilet has been fanning the flames.

This cancerous growth promised to fundamentally change America and he has succeeded. I predict many, many more deaths as a result of negro-Muslim conflict with the rest of us. The negroes are allying themselves with the Muslims as ignorant converts to something they are too damned stupid to understand.

What Obama’s administration (composed largely of negroes, left-wing whack jobs, perverts and other assorted numbskulls) has accomplished will set the negro race back to pre-1960’s status. They may never recover and their numbers will be decimated by their own intermural murders and a few vigilantes.

America’s future is nothing but bleak and extremely dangerous and this is what this perverted president will leave as his legacy.

We can only pray that President Trump will, with the help of some excellent Conservative advisers and appointees, be successful in putting this derailed nation back on track!
