Well, all these protestors at Trump rallies are all peaceful and compliant...They ALL follow the rules and it’s those nasty Trump supporters who cause all the trouble...Screaming racial things..Starting fights, chasing peaceful, calm protestors....

According to Wikipedia and other sources on Google, this is one of those new age things, in which legitimate native American rites were appropriated by new age aficionados who barely understand the customs they want to imitate.
This woman, by burning things in a public place like that, could have caused someone to have an asthma attack, or started a fire. Not that I expect she cares about things like that.
It’s called smudging with sage. Oddly enough, after a fashion it works. It is said that it “repels bad spirits”, but in practical terms, it tends to repel two groups of people: those who are in a bad frame of mind about others, and methamphetamine smokers.
However, it tends to make those in a bad mood feel better. So there is some subtlety involved.
A got to see a good demonstration of the above. Outside at a coffee shop, someone in my group spotted both a couple of undercover police officers, and a table of tweakers. He lit up some powdered sage in an ash try, and as soon as the slightest hint of sage smoke reached them, both groups quickly left, but nobody else.
Some time later at a party, there was an unpleasant mood about. Arguments were brewing and the guests were rather dour. To lighten the mood, some sage was smudged, and in a few minutes everyone cheered up, and it turned into a really fun evening.
Okay, purely anecdotal, but noticeable.
The irony here is that, other than the police, the sage would more likely than not drive away the Trump protesters, many of whom were likely in a bad frame of mind. So her actions were self-defeating.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes-anyone with an ability to reason knows lighting on fire/burning something-anything-at a protest is going to be an instant red flag to LEOs-where there is smoke, there is bound to be a source of combustion...
That said-I make smudge bundles of cedar and sage-I like the odor of the smoke-the sage used is not culinary sage but the ornamental variety that grows in semi arid/arid places-smells totally different...
Well, back during my firefighting days, I breathed lots of smoke from burning sage, and cheat grass, and juniper, and Ponderosa pine, and who knows what else. I always kind of liked the smell, though I never noticed any spiritual benefit to speak of.
Well, isn't it always the pod-people of the DEM-LEFT who meet that "insane-idiot" criteria?
For some reason LE tolerates anti-Trump insanity more because they realize the Left-Hitlery supporting media is haunting their every move.
Now someone like the Tea Party -- remember when THEY were falsely accused of almost causing a riot and spitting on our Black Congressional Caucus royalty? Backed by two weeks of 24/7 MSM coverage.
If this were someone protesting Herr Hitlery, the person would have been manhandled by a dozen SWAT and whisked away in an armored truck.
