The utter failure of the pacifist response to violence lies in its inability to change the behavior of violent people. Ghandi changed the behavior of the British rulers in India because the English were not fundamentally violent. Pacifism did nothing to stop Germany or Japan in WWII. Both were fundamentally violent. Suing for peace with Islam can only produce more violence.
