There is no reason, in time of crisis, to draft women to perform support duties to free up MEN to perform actual combat missions.

Why should women be confined to support duties? Is that equal treatment? SecDef has already said that women can serve in combat roles whether it is the Marines, Special Forces, Seals, or the Rangers. And half of the men serving in combat are there not as a matter of choice. If women are eligible for the draft, they must be treated like the men.

Equal opportunity does not mean equal outcome, and although I’m sure that there are women who can, the vast majority of women cannot rescue a fallen 200 lb comrade while carrying an 85 lb backpack, and therefore are not qualified for combat duty. That doesn’t mean they can’t repair avionics or refuel aircraft, or work in other support support positions.
