For those of us that are of a certain Viet Nam era age this looks all too familiar. I look forward with great expectations to the turmoil as we expiate the foes of republican democracy (for a time, as they’ll never be completely defeated).
I recall the protestors that laid themselves in front of locomotives at the Concord Naval Weapons Station in California, the Mario Savio protestors at UC Berkeley, the gun shots from the projects in my hometown after MLK Jr. was assassinated, and not to be forgotten, the 1968 Democrat convention in Chicago with all it’s turmoil, head thumping, and gas choking, no choke-holds barred that Mayor Daley’s police force applied to the leftist crowds. It was a sight to behold.
