Mighty tough talk for an old fat man.
Iran might be able to make a first strike, or even put up a second wave. But like the Japanese commanders in the Second World War, they will have wakened a sleeping giant.
Retaliation took a few years, but when it came, it was overwhelming. And the Japanese knew the Americans would be relentless once they unleashed their latent power.
Nagasaki and Hiroshima were proof of that.
Coincidently I was thinking today that if anyone out there in the world felt ambitious about something that America might tend to block NOW is the time to try something...
The problem with the Iranians is that they’ve been so insular since 1979 that they don’t really understand the USA. They project their own worldview onto us and they think our government controls all of us and that we’re all exactly alike in the way we think.
The problem facing the USA these days is that our manufacturing and cultural base is so weak that we would have severe difficulties in changing from a consumer economy to a wartime economy.
Unlike WW2 we’d have treasonous elements actively and openly opposing a full scale war against Iran.
Who knows, maybe we ARE as weak as the Iranians think we are.
Hopefully President Trump can help to CHANGE that. I HOPE so.
And that’s my ‘hope and change’.
Even when Iran sinks one of our carriers, this America will do nothing in response, ever. You’re talking about how the old America would respond.
Not until 1/21/17.
