The Iranians want to sink a carrier. It has been many years since Americans have seen one of those great ships bellowing smoke, listing and with sailors going over the side. The American of 2016 is not the American of 1943. Today we would be “too proud to fight.”
I agree. I’ll bet the current (secret) Rules of Engagement tell the skippers of those vessels NOT to defend themselves or retaliate.
