He doesn’t sound like the brightest bulb on the string by any means. Just finished serving three years for burglary and was on probation. I know of some guys who stay in trouble because they prefer incarceration than trying to carve out an independent life as a free man.
Interesting guys who like to be locked up with other guys, maybe it’s a gay thing.
