Many of us served in the military not too many years after Woodstock, which was more about a bunch of kids going off and listening to music and partying.
There is a lot wrong with the transition of power from the greatest generation to the baby boomers of the upper half, e.g. the Clintons and the Bushes, because the greatest generation forgot that they needed to select, train and groom their successors.
Too much of the reaction against the 60's culture drove that culture and was based in the most flawed and ineptly fought war in this country's history - Vietnam. Fighting communism was fine, but we fought to defend those who were defending French colonialism. It was a no win situation, in which we extracted the worst loss possible.
There is a lot wrong with America, but it isn't "woodstock values from a 1960's freakshow."
