The host of HBO’s ‘Real Time with Bill Maher’ criticized the size of our military and unloaded on his favorite punching bag, Donald Trump.
Bill Maher, the unapologetically outspoken political satirist, began his program Real Time Friday night by assessing the recent New York presidential primaries. The HBO host was, naturally, a bit crestfallen that his preferred candidate, Bernie Sanders, lost out to by 16 points to Hillary Clinton—and that his nemesis, Donald Trump, won his home state handily.
“The conventional wisdom is that it’s just Hillary and Trump. Those are our two choices,” said Maher during his monologue. “They both won big. Hillary was so stoked she was drinkin’ hot sauce right out of the bottle! Bernie never got a chance because they didn’t let independents vote in New York.”
The most controversial statement by Maher, however, came during the panel portion of the evening. Maher, joined by guests Van Jones, Lesley Stahl, and Charles Cooke....

Bill Maher was an agitated wimp growing up in North Jersey wealthy suburbs. He was brutalized by tough kids. He never got over it and never will.

If Bill was ever threaten or been a victim of an ISIS attack, he would be singing a different tune. Must be nice living behind monitored fences, 24 hour security and personal body guards.
What makes our military doubly amazing is that our troops also bring every type of aid to all corners of the earth at a moment's notice whenever disaster strikes, often to people who don't really deserve it, and frequently rescue people, many of whom don't really deserve rescuing.

Maher spent how many years in the military??? I didn’t think so. He probably could never make it past the 1st week in basic.
Kerry was said to have had negotiations with the North Vietnamese during the time of war which would be treason. He was busted form officer to the lowest seaman in the navy. Brings many questions kinda like 0’s world dealings.
I bet little willie was harassed by other kids in his early years. His mother tried to comfort him, but he realized how worthless he really was. He knew the other kids were right.
Property armed and trained, you’re darned right that our Armed Forces are a “murder machine” - what do people think combat is, anyway?
That murder machine has capably kept innocent people alive and free and crushed enemies and their capabilities for massacre for a century or so.

A couple of years ago, somebody here on FR referred to Maher as being “pink slime”. I thought that was great then and I guess it’s still accurate.
You are full of crap. Not all war is murder. Not all killing (of humans) is murder. Murder is unlawful/immoral killing. War is often lawful and moral.
