Of course, if Trump did not tone down his act, you’d take the position that Trump does not have the temperament to be president.
To heck I would. Trump HAS to tone down his act, and HAS to hire competent GOP operatives to secure the nomination. He simply has to. Then he simply HAS to slide much more to the middle, to the left, to soften his positions to even stand even a minor chance of beating Cankles. And he WILL. He is a DINO ( but with pro business leanings) at his heart. Has been all his life. It's just that much of his most core and strong supporters, support what he was when he started out trying to secure the republican nomination. They won't like what he has to do to win. But they will stick with him. They just want to win, and supposedly stick it to the GOPe . Even though Trump will be the GOPe once he secures the nomination. If he allows himself to be outmaneuvered in the delegate counts ( which after all is really how you get the nomination) then his vaunted touting of his ability to be the best negotiator in any room will be proven as a false hollow empty farce. And if that then happens, and he runs wild card third party ( which he has explored several times in the past. remember the reform party?) then we will know his candidacy was all about getting Cankles elected.
But so far - he is on a major GOPe staff insider hiring mode, and trying to tone down his statements, and apparently actually trying to secure delegates now, and looking like he really is trying to win. I hope so.
