Raising taxes does not balance budgets. Amply demonstrated elsewhere, higher taxes REDUCE net revenue.

Cutting expenditures is much more effective as a strategy.

Increasing revenue while reducing expenditures works in every household that it is applied.

Hell, reducing expenditures while paying down the debt (to hell w/ increasing revenues) should be the way to go.

Unfort., the People have learned they can raid the Treasury for their (perceived) benefit...and govt is happy to assist in enslaving their posterity doing so (though it all be highly illegal/unconstitutional); when did govt ever care for the rules/law?
