I’m glad this person had the decency to state this. Didn’t know (but not surprised) about alleged “mental” problems.
I actually don’t believe in pure “environment” reasoning for character, but given there is a huge sampling here of 38 dogs, to have them almost all be of good personality speaks somewhat well of the owner. (If it was only 3 dogs, e.g., I’d say it could be luck of genetics.)
The rescue has found no physical evidence there was fighting among the dogs. They are basically all puppies in attitude.
We are also checking for microchips in case these dogs belong to someone else. One of our volunteers found a stray pug yesterday with a microchip and discovered it was missing for four years and returned to the owners.
