This was not “cut off”. This is undercoat - plucking it out. These dogs produce tons of soft undercoat that “blows” every 6 months (for about a month), but to get it gone ASAP requires frequent plucking. I imagine they hit him at the end of a cycle wherein his coat was only “naturally” coming out.
Believe me, you can get TONS of undercoat every day during the cycle that piles up hugely if you pluck it to help it along. Requires doing it in the back yard, preferably. Horrendous mess.
Arghhhh! That somehow sounds worse! I thought they sheared the dog like a sheep, or a recruit in boot camp!
