Donald Trump Finds Support in Reddit’s Unruly Corners
The New York Times ^ | April 8, 2016 | John Herman

“We’re at war,” the video began. “No one wants to admit it, but humanity is under attack.”

The narration continued, delivered over swelling music and video of protests and gunfire: “One very specific man might be all that stands between humanity and the greatest threat of our brief existence.”

The man being offered as the savior of a doomed world is Donald J. Trump. And on Monday Mr. Trump shared the video with the millions of people who follow him on Twitter and Facebook as he tries to secure the Republican nomination for president.

But the original version of the video, titled “Trump Effect,” appeared nine days earlier on Reddit, the popular online message board, posted by its anonymous creator. Given Reddit’s reputation as an unruly and sometimes extreme corner of the Internet, it is perhaps not surprising that the video pushed the boundaries of campaign promotion: By turns grave and winking, it borrowed an apocalyptic narration by the actor Martin Sheen from a 2010 trailer for the video game Mass Effect 2. At the end, a clip showing Hillary Clinton making barking sounds was followed by the words “BEWARE OF DOG.”

The video linked on Twitter was taken down within hours for copyright reasons, and other copies subsequently vanished from the Internet....

It doesn't matter if a Republican or Democrat is elected to the White House. Either way, America loses. Too many believe that one party or the other allows us to "just lose a little better." For those who tell us that a third party will "split the vote," we ask them: How do you justify that statement? Do you realize that's only a myth? Does a party "own" your vote? Do two parties "own" every vote? Our party will not take any votes away from the Republican or Democratic party. Those voting for our candidates are not "owned" by the Republicans or the Democrats. Our voters have declared that they own their own votes and will no longer cast a ballot with a horrible option on it, just to vote AGAINST the "other" party. They are voting FOR candidates which will represent them. But to help you understand the "split vote" myth, the two parties have created this to perpetuate their existence. Either you vote against the "other" party or stay home is the demand by the two parties. Why would they do that? Because if a third party receive about 7 million votes (5%) it raises that party to recognized status and they no longer wield absolute power. They will be forced to face us and to bring great candidates to the table, not lousy ones to maintain power. If you are stuck on the false premise that Ross Perot put Clinton in office, know that Clinton only received 6 million votes more than Bush but 20 million registered Republicans stayed home and Perot received ZERO electoral votes. But that is used to scare you into voting two party or stay home while a Democrat wearing a blue tie is elected, or a Democrat wearing a red tie. After all, Senator McCain and Congressman Ryan have voted to pass the agendas of President Obama and both were recent GOP Presidential ticket members. So voting for us is voting FOR America and ending the current system. And we did not even discuss the 12th Amendment where a strong enough third party candidate will guarantee the Republicans the White House, for those afraid a Democrat will win. ‪#‎VPA‬ ‪#‎VPofA‬ @VetsPA www.vpofa.org www.veteranspartyofamerica.org www.chriskeniston2016.com

Now that's what I call crapweasel statistics. The only thing you forgot to say is "amirite?"

FYI, Perot's target was Bush, NOT Clinton. His success was IN making 20 million registered Repubicans stay home. The goal was NEVER to have them vote for him, only for them to be disgusted with BOTH him AND Bush - and it worked.

Same as what Cruz is trying to do now to Trump.

And for the same Massa - the Clintons.

Friggin moron.

When I hear people that once understood the American people and honestly had a gift of being able to write about the heart and soul of us has sadly lost their perspective. A good example is Peggy Noonan today. She has become irrelevant. People are angry and disappointed in our government, media and others who have just given up.

We are a country of “Can Do” and “At All Cost” to see that our nation protects Liberty and The Pursuit of Happiness for All. The disbelievers are trying so hard to tear us down with this Political Correctness Garbage. Keep strong people and continue the fight.

How come people remember how Perot screwed Bush. But hardly anyone blames Nader for screwing Al Gore.

I wonder why that is?

That would be admitting dirty tricks within the Left. That can't be admitted. The Left is a collective - you're supposed to be safe if you join it. If you're not safe from your own collectivists, there's no point in loyalty. Everyone knows this is bullshit, but it can't be admitted as bullshit.

And so that's the real problem they have with Bernie. He's forcing Hillary to attack a huge percentage of collectivist liberals as enemies - openly. The collective is therefore being threatened by the truth of what Hillary really is.

Denial is their God. This is literally a religious crisis for the Left.

I’d kiss Nader on the mouth for that. It nice to see the “other side” screwed once in a while.
