The military is not civilian, and operates — and SHOULD operate — under different laws. I respect Sikhs, and I would welcome their renowned courage and loyalty to my foxhole anytime. But there can only be one set of rules in the military. And NO exceptions.

Nerve agents are a hell of a way to go.

Agreed. Although a ceremonial uniform might be an interesting exception.

If you join any group with specific rules, either live by the rules or don’t join. It isn’t like he was unaware of expectations when he signed up.

That is absolutely correct... That was one of the FIRST things we were told back in 1965.. The Constitution of the United States does not apply to the American soldier... The solder lives, works and breaths under the "Code of Military Justice"...

I distinctly remember the DI saying "You used to be a citizen of the U.S. but now your a$$ belongs to ME..!!!"
