Maybe the landlord is afraid they will stick him with bad debts, like Trump is prone to do.
No law against that. Race, color, ethnicity, perversion are all protected; not politics. My ad would say “no lawyers, liberals, socialists, progressives, communists or Marxists, please”. That plus a minimum required FICO score of 750 would get rid of most of the undesirables!

Bankruptcy is a business tool. In some instances investors buy an already ailing property/asset, and use the provisions of bankruptcy to their advantage in paying off/writing off debt on the asset. Trump has never bankrupted anything he started from the ground up (AFAIK) - but he has used bankruptcy as part of the process of acquiring and rehabilitating assets...i.e. “a great deal”.

As a landlord, I don’t care how my tenants vote or who the sleep with. As long as they take care of my property, abide by my lease agreement, and pay their rent on time with checks that don’t bounce I simply DO NOT CARE.
