ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - When Grecia Rivas graduated from a Tucson high school a few years ago, she thought her days in a classroom were over. She was an immigrant living in the U.S. illegally and counselors didn't know what to tell her about college prospects, though she had a 3.8 grade point average.
It was the height of Arizona's SB1070, a state law designed to target immigrants like her, and Arizona colleges at that time didn't allow such immigrants to attend at in-state tuition rates.
The 24-year-old from Nogales, Mexico, is now pursuing a degree in graphic design at one of New Mexico's smaller colleges thanks to an effort by the school to recruit students like her -- high-achieving student immigrants who are living in the country illegally....

No doubt for their science and engineering schools?
Follow the money. Cuo bono? Who benefits, who pays?
How about legal residents of Arizona, Colorado, and Texas? Can they go to college in New Mexico and pay in-state tuition?
Probably one of the saddest letters you will read concerning the low state to which we have fallen. The cause? Our inattention to the activities of those otherwise ordinary citizens we delegate to properly operate the system the Founding Fathers ATTEMPTED to leave us. We have permitted them to become the royalty and cloak themselves in ...titles of nobility...brave and angry men began to resist in Boston Harbor and on Lexington Green.
Thomas Jefferson issued multiple warnings about what would happen if we failed to be attentive to the process.
Yes, we did produce a near perfect republic. But will they keep it? Or, will they, in the enjoyment of plenty, lose the memory of freedom? Material abundance without character is the path to destruction.
In questions of power, let no more be heard of confidence in men but bind them down from mischief with the chains of the Constitution
Those warnings were echoed nearly 2 centuries later with these words:
Liberty lies in the hearts of men and women; if it dies there, no constitution, no law, no court can save it. Judge Learned Hand, 1944

This headline is incorrect. They are not recruiting "undocumented" students. They are recruiting ILLEGAL ALIENS.
Then this university should receive no federal money.
I’ll share it on FB when I get home.
This really angers me! I live 30 miles away from this bastion of liberal indoctrination. I personally know people who would like to attend, but they’re now going to have to compete against illegal aliens for financial aid.
“...the school works to convince the students they’d find a hospitable environment for immigrants and possible financial aid at the 3,700-student university located in the mining town of Silver City.”
They’ll find a “hospitable environment”? Yeah, among all the damn libtards that have moved here.
That is the best use of that image ever.
Thanks...
I’m surprised that someone didn’t photoshop it long before I did..
Well, maybe someone did, but I haven’t seen it, and it is such an obvious thing to do.
