“Our military will become the strongest the newest and the most powerful in the world....”

It already is. By far.

America should NOT be “run like a a business.” America should be a place where the possibility of starting a business in a market unfettered by government interference, the desire to pick winners and losers is checked and financial freedom is the norm. America is supposed to be a Republic, not a Democracy. As the old saying goes...”start with a Republic, become a Democracy, move to Democratic Socialism, Socialism then finally communism.”

I prefer a Republic, the one we started with, without ANY business attitudes in any manner. They have no place in Government. Provide a standing army for defense, protect the ability of the people to arm themselves, provide a judicial system that adheres strictly to all of the Constitution and watch the government like a hawk. Remember that the Constitution is not subject to change because of a new technology or a “new sensibility” in our people. It is immutable.

Roll back the insane “business oriented” solutions in banking and allow a free market and a free economy to grow. We now have neither. Bring our trade policies back to reality and stop manipulating our competitiveness by means of taxation. Let America return to being America.

I like what you said except for the comments on the military. I have worked supporting our military my entire career, and live it every day. This nations Military is decimated, we have old ordinance, old airplanes, old ships, old electronics. The programs to implement them have been stripped thru sequester. What new equipment we have brought to the field gets left behind when we leave the battlefield. This has always baffled me. Left for our enemies to use against us, but more importantly an asset is lost. We could use this equipment over and over again. If we don’t use state of the art ships to move them, we certainly could use container ships or repurposed mothballed ships to transport, or all the mothballed C5 Galaxys and C-130s could be repurposed to transport our assets. A businessman would recover our assets, and prevent our enemies from using them. Collecting Arms taken from our enemies and using them ourselves should be standard operating procedure, yet we don’t do this. Waste Fraud and
Abuse is SOP, not as it should be.
Our men and women, especially the mid level, really experienced officers and NCO’s have been retired or let go, due to sequester. Our able bodied seamen and army personnel are severely depleted.
IMO, your incorrect concerning how our government should be run. Things, especially for the military are overpriced and undersupplied. $1000.00 bolts are more common than you think, there is no negotiating. Manufacturing for specialty items is backlogged years. The free market is hampered by illogical and restrictive regulations. Properly run, free market would reign, but not so.
The free market determines winners and losers, not the government. $15.00/hr wages is a job killer, no longer an entry level job.
As for the rest, I think your right on.
