To vote under the voter ID law, people must show Wisconsin driver's licenses, state-issued ID cards, military IDs, passports, tribal IDs, naturalization certificates or limited types of college IDs, provided they also have documentation they are currently enrolled in school.

That's a pretty wide array of acceptable ID. It's unfortunate that a Veterans' Administration card (assuming it's a picture ID) wasn't included, but it's an understandable oversight which the legislature is fixing with some expedition.

And of course, the gentleman could go on Monday and get a free state (nondriver) ID card. My 15-year-old has one.

My husband’s VA card has his picture on it.
