Twitter off the deep end: Stacy McCain booted
Rand Koch blog ^ | February 20, 2016 | Rand Koch

As if to prove my Wednesday post, Twitter has suspended Stacy McCain's account. He wasn't too clear on the exact cause, and doesn't really seem to know. But at the moment, it ends with “EXPECT UPDATES…”

Datechguy wrote a nice write-up on McCain, the man.

You probably know that much already. After my previous post being about Twitter, I'd like to say I expected stuff like this, but of course I did not think it could be so soon, or so overt. This was pretty quick.

It's as if the grown-ups left for the weekend, and the SJW interns are in control. It was only supposed to be just in case the circuit breakers popped — it is a weekend, after all — but then those interns saw an injustice that needed to be fixed, and it couldn't wait 'til Monday.

Twitter may or may not see this as a mistake. I assume they will adapt to the complaints.

I just signed up for Quitter.se. (My own account is here). It's an alternative that would take time to build. I'll be updating the major posts on both platforms.

I didn't think my Wednesday post important enough to post here, but it's linked above. It starts off about British actor Stephen Fry leaving Twitter after catching too much flak over a comment, but then gets into Twitter's new "Trust and Safety Council" to deal with people who need to be removed.

In other words, us.

We handled that in the article on shadowbanning: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3398181/posts

Hard to interpret but I read the SJW Twitter thought police banned him over this pic?

Twitter is a failing platform, and it’s open hostility to political viewpoints espoused by half of the US population will only hasten it’s demise.

I always thought that Twitter wasn’t much of a company, but would make a great protocol. All that is really needed is some simple open-source code and some volunteers to run public servers.

I thought that’s what Jabber was (XMPP).

Twitter is gay and you didn’t handle anything.

If you are on Twitter then you are probably gay
and anything you do.. or “handle”.. is equally gay.

I haven’t been on my Twitter account in several months but I’m sure from what I’m seeing that my tense exchanges with Muslims, Jihadist boosters, BDS nazis, and assorted leftists while completely disregarding political correctness would end my account. I know that they have hidden my account from Pakistani accounts that were encouraging Muslims to spam Islamic praise with some sort of point reward system because I would tweet back responses that challenged them.

I was hoping they were talking about that chubette senator’s daughter...

Hey, how come my posts are getting all those crappy characters when I use apostrophes & quotes?

Those garbage characters are a result of an apostrophe or quote mark being turned into left-or-right version of that character when it gets copied into a reply, and then not being displayed right.

I’m guessing there’s a style matter not handled right in the website.

I try to change them back whenever I reply, or copy a post, but I can see that I missed one in the top message.

You're right - my mistake, and a bad habit I've gotten into.

I understand. After you have seen incorrect usage so many times, you begin to think it is correct.

I haven’t any idea what any of the post means———and I don’t need an answer. :-)
