Trump goes for the jugular then backs off

Trump's playbook: Fueling a rumor mill is the worst kind of manipulation of dedicated followers

Having first backed Donald Trump as he came out swinging on the campaign trail, too much has passed his lips and subsequently been deposited into the timeless archives of video to be ignored. This will most certainly bring Trump supporters down onto my neck with hatchets, but the obvious can’t be overlooked.

A brilliant builder of a real estate empire, Trump has become a media manager extraordinaire over the decades. It is all based on mainstream media indolence, its willingness to receive and broadcast radical sound bites to create ‘news,’ even when it isn’t – news, that is. Trump has demonstrated his mastery of maneuvering the media to repeat all that he says by being perceived as outrageous. In fact, Trump is anything but outrageous. He has perfected the use of shock value to garner unprecedented coverage. But it goes farther than that.

Spot on.

Most of them have given up rational argument and are now are simply taunting the opposition.

These people don’t want that mean guy as President. He wants a wall, want’s to halt the Syrian migration,

They want a fluffy puppy like Rubio that open-borders, big banks and foreign countries can cuddle up to. That way the cheap labor express keeps chugging along and Japan never has to pay a tariff on their gazillion cars.

Fueling a rumor mill is the worst kind of manipulation of dedicated followers. Trump’s playbook is to start the ball rolling then stand back, throwing up his hands and acting like he had nothing to do with what he’s loosed against anyone standing in his way.

Welcome to the world of politics, Missy. Is the author that naive?

Close, but not quite. Jeb is low energy. Cruz was born in Canada. Fiorina does have a weird face. Those are all facts. What Trump does is simply state the obvious with a question.

You MSM folks are not only going for Trump’s jugular....you’re feeling threatened from loss of control

...if Trump wins and puts into effect wonderful life saving measures to secure our borders, strengthen our military and keep America from going down the tubes.

Get a grip!

You’ve had your place in the sun....and kept American citizens in the shadows
WE yearn to breathe free again!!!...And Trump can lead us!

And Trump has a ridiculous haircut because he is embarrassed he is bald.

(Is that the genesis of his inferiority complex?)

So what?

“Fueling a rumor mill is the worst kind of manipulation of dedicated followers”

Cruz’s deceptive tactics in Iowa is not just rumors. Go ask Greta or Mark Steyn, or Mrs. Carson.

There is only so much you can do with an issue. Trump has his message to get out, and that message does not involve Cruz’s actions in Iowa.

That issue is self-inflicted by Cruz. This is politics. Is Trump or Carson bound to cover for Cruz?

I don’t see what the author’s problem is. The Cruz folks have been defending doing this kind of politicking all week.

Trump and Cruz are tag teaming to distract the dems and media. If you look it up, they had many private meetings prior to all this . By argueing they suck all the oxygen and also draw attention to the cheating with insane accusations. Its working.

Fair enough. Then one shouldn't complain about Cruz playing hardball in Iowa.

He apparently isn’t bald, I’ve seen him lift that apparent combover up to show that he still has hair. Why does he wear his hair that way, then? I guess it’s a trademark thing by now, ridiculous though it might seem to many. Doesn’t seem to have hampered him, in real estate, reality tv or political aspirations.

Hearing Trump supporters repeat and repeat the Iowa accusations against Cruz reminds me of Goebbels’ statement:

“It would not be impossible to prove with sufficient repetition and a psychological understanding of the people concerned that a square is in fact a circle. They are mere words, and words can be molded until they clothe ideas and disguise.”

I just love how Cruz folks blame Trump for what Cruz and his campaign did.

I see Trump’s ability to control the media conversation a positive.

It’s about time our side had a voice.

Is he really controlling the media. Trump's negatives are very high.

How does one get elected with such high negatives?

I don’t care about any of that. I want to see a businessman as President, that’s it. Trump is the only one who’s tried and he is emminently qualified. The fact that he is smart, brash, and not politically correct are all pluses, the fact that he doesn’t toe the conservative line on all issues isn’t a factor as The Boss has said, “sounds pretty conservative to me”.

A businessman as President. Something we haven’t tried, and Lord knows, we need.

He’s bald.

It’s not male pattern, it’s like his father.

It’s been like that since he was young. You can tell from photos. He has had plugs transplants etc...

If you read the entire article it is just another: Trump is Hitler story. Comparing American hardball politics to the Nazis is pretty pathetic, and is itself a form of rabblerousing, that’s why the left has been screaming “Nazi!!” at Trump for months, and will continue to do so.

Well, it looks as if he doesn’t “need” the combover anymore, and yet he still wears it. Doesn’t seem to bother him, he has a sense of humor about it. And, as I said, it doesn’t seem to have hampered him in any of his endeavors.
