Well since I don't know anything about torque ratios I'll take your word for it. The ads are all dumb,as are most ads. I rarely see an ad I like.

In physics, "torque ratio" is equal to "gear ratio." So, if you have a transmission with 100 lbs of torque on the input shaft, and the output shaft is 2.5 times the size of the input shaft, you have 2.5 x 100 or 250 pounds of torque on the output shaft. However, no one uses the term "torque ratio" in automotive circles. They use the terms "torque" and "gear ratio", but no one uses "torque ratio." Sometimes they'll measure torque to horsepower, or cubic inches, or even weight of the vehicle.
