I have seen many many comments here along the theme of “Oh, he’s going to save us!” There doesn’t seem to be much thought behind how Trump can get done some of the things he says he’s going to do and whether they are actually possible within the framework of The Constitution. It’s the same Federal power grab that is happening now, but it’s okay because he’s on “our side”. That doesn’t work for me. I don’t necessarily disagree with what Trump says needs to be done, but it does sound a lot like business as usual as far as HOW it will supposedly get done.
Like I said, any R potus will have his feet held to the fire by both sides. There will be minimal encouragers saying, “It’s ok to do xyz because it’s our side doing it.”
