I’ll never EVER vote for Donald Trump. Period.

I am a Cruz supporter as he is the most conservative candidate at this time. Should Trump receive the GOP nomination, he is almost assuredly the most conservative of the two candidates that will run for President. At least I dont see ANYONE on the Dem side to be more conservative than Trump.

As such, I will donate, work for and support Cruz. If Trump is the nominee, I can hold my nose and vote for him.

You make some very good points. Ms. Schafly has compromised her values. Maybe she is suffering from dementia. She is 91, after all.

Personally, I was shocked when the "queen of conservatism" came out for Donald Trump. Phyllis Schafly has been a conservative icon for so long, and even though I've disagreed with her a couple times in the recent past, I was flabbergasted that she would pick somebody who openly declares that he doesn't see his need of asking God's forgiveness for anything.

So, you prefer to wait until the purest of the pure candidate who has a realistic chance of winning comes along. And when, pray tell, might that happen?

Phyllis Schafly is 92 years old. Who knows what her mental condition is?

Shery this is a stupid post... Trump is a good man and he has been blessed more than most of us in life.

Why would you think God is not behind him and smiling upon him?

This pathetic, error filled,IGNORANT screed just makes you look dumb!

You loathe Trump SO much, that you've lashed out at Phylis and posted completely erroneous bilge.

Trump has said that he is very impressed by Judge Thomas and Alito, as prime examples of whom he would like to see more of on the SCOTUS. Do you have a problem with that?

He is an old fashioned PATRIOT, who is a BIG defender of the Constitution; especially the first two Amendments.

He is for lower taxes, less government intrusion, and for a smaller government...doing away with all of the fraud and waste.

He wants to rebuild the military, fix the mess at the V.A., have ALL of laws abided by, get rid of the damned ILLEGAL ALIENS and to NOT take in ANY Muslim "refugees".

But oh me, oh me, *clutch at your pearls*, you're shocked, SHOCKED, you tell us, that a staunch CONSERVATIVE has proclaimed her support of him. LOL

Have you ANY idea just HOW ridiculous you have now made yourself look ?

Phyllis Schlafly is amazing. Some great Freeper turned me on to the The Barry Goldwater 1964 Campaign 50th Anniversary Forum. We are watching history repeat itself.

If you have 9 minutes watch from 6:10- 15:39 of this video with Schlafly describing how the establishment of the Republican Party takes out grassroots candidates. This is really timely...

Cruz is more conservative, but can’t win in the general election. Trump can. Trump will incrementally move the ball forward for conservatives.

A bird in hand is worth two in the bush.

Who are you to question Trump’s faith or Ms Sclafly’s personal choice?

This is one absurd vanity.

>> Who will he pick for the Supreme Court? That’s THE critical issue that is not being talked about this cycle. Several currently serving are of age to pass on during the next few years. I do not see Trump choosing a conservative. <<

Reagan picked one reliable conservative (Scalia) and one squishy moderate (Kennedy). Batting average = .500.

Bush 41 picked one reliable conservative (Thomas) and one flaming liberal (Souter). Batting average = .500 again.

Bush 43 picked one reliable conservative (Alito) and one turncoat (Roberts). Batting average = .500 once more.

In the meantime, Clinton and Obama have picked only diehard leftists. Batting averages for both = .000.

Moreover, you can be sure that anybody picked by Hilary or Bernie will be as leftwing as Bill’s and Barack’s choices, quite possibly worse.

(Negative batting averages, anybody?)

During the next four years, there could easily be three or four SCOTUS openings — for the seats of Breyer, Scalia, Kennedy and Ginsberg — due to deaths or retirements.

Therefore, I think that what it comes down to is this:

If the choice is between Trump and Hilary, or Trump and Bernie, I’d gladly go for Trump, because there’s at least a small chance that some of his SCOTUS picks would be OK. In other words, even if his batting average should turn out to be .333 or only .250, he’d be a lot better than the alternatives.

I absolutely care nothing about whether candidate a “knows Jesus” or has been “born again,” etc., etc.

Jimmy Carter was “born again.” Our first pro-abortion fanatic President. Bill Clinton toted a Bible. A huge one. Obama is a “Christian.”

Schafly warns about the evils of gambling in fantasy football (http://www.conservativetruth.org/article.php?id=4765) yet she endorses a big time casino builder, makes sense.

There is something going on this election cycle that the Cruz supporters haven’t been able to understand.

Donald Trump could have run as a Democrat against two challengers. It would have been easy to do with his old stances, but instead he adopted our ideals and has been bushing them in parts back from 2000 to 2010.

In 2014 he was championing gun rights in public rallies against Cuomo legislation.

I don’t like Trump’s former stances. He is not running on them, and he easily could have.

He bucked the prevailing thought on immigration, gun control, Obamacare, government spending, the national debt, and other things. He didn’t have to.

We have spent up to 18 years here pleading to get a politician who would no only agree with us, but would fight for us, could handle the media, and overcome all opposition to our beliefs.

Trump is that man. I know that many of you don’t see it that way. That’s too bad, but it’s not unusual to have big splits on the way to the nomination.

Many good people are backing Cruz. Believe it or not, many good people have assessed Trump’s past actions, and are very comfortable with voting for him now. You don’t have to like it. Dislike it all you want. Just don’t think that people like Franklin Graham, Phyllis Schlafley, Jim Robinson, and many others on this forum are sworn off Conservatism to back Trump. They haven’t.

Please do not denigrate people who have spent their whole lives supporting Conservatism because you are upset now.

There is no better Conservative around than Phyllis Schlafley. She does not deserve to be trashed. She has been on the record taking Republicans to task for not standing up for what it right. She’s been doing it her whole life.

Jim has said he stand for Ted Cruz first, and will take Trump if he wins the nomination.

That seems to be in your favor.

Can we back off on some of this?

If you guys have a legitimate point to make, by all means make it. What’s going on isn’t right and you know it.

I’ve had some fun with graphics, but it was something I didn’t start doing until a few weeks ago, and it was to let off steam that was building up.

Ted can takes some good natured ribbing, and so can Trump.

Some of what is going on here, is not that sort of thing. It needs to stop.
