Can Trump Restore America?
American Thinker ^ | 2016-01-08 | Daren Jonescu

Aristotle teaches that while we must love our friends, we must love truth more. Today, I am probably going to lose some good friends, which is painful. Nevertheless, my admiration for everything America was, everything modern civilization was, compels me to bite the bullet.

Donald Trump may win the Republican presidential nomination. He may even be elected President of the United States -- stranger things have certainly happened recently. However, while his popularity is understandable, an essential question remains: Is Trump the kind of leader who might begin to restore a crumbled constitutional republic?

It is obvious that the people who have been in charge for years can not, will not, or do not want to restore America to a decent, truthful and God fearing nation.

Who is to say Trump can not? He is certainly better than the corrupt and ignorant trash currently in office and certainly better (with one exception) than the trash that is trying to fill that office.

Why in the world would anyone with half a brain think that by implementing the same old failed programs that all of a sudden this time they will work. That is pure ignorance.

You should read the article.
I personally will never vote for Trump who trashed Scalia and promoted affirmative action last month.

Agreed, we need new ideas and we need to drop the establishment horse trade between the Dems and GOP. Trump is my choice for this reason.

This intellectual argument about how good Trump would be compared to an ideal (maybe Mark Levin?) is interesting but Levin is not running, and would not be electable if he did run. President Trump will be faced with a host of problems, issues and concerns. Immigration and ISIS are only part of the problems he will face. A big one I am concerned with is how he handles the present government corruption. He has to deal with this, and while I hope for a Boy Scout solution, I can expect that more likely his deal making prowess will come into plan. The best statement Trump made as to how he will govern was his plan to use the question, What is best for the common American? I can agree with that position.

That is where this argument should go. Can a superior thinker/deal maker put our institutions back on track?

I would bet on it.

“Kasich”

I don’t know. . .but I am willing to give him a chance (or Cruz—either one).

Trump and his supporters can’t stop lying about Ted Cruz. How is he supposed to fix America when conservative solutions are the only answer?
