Human beings rate things. Think of any quality humans possess, strength, intelligence, the ability to run fast - we make lists, we hold contests, we applaud their efforts. Who is the best cook? Who can memorize the most digits of pi? Who is the heavyweight champion of the world? We designate the best dressed, the richest, the most artistic. Why can we not celebrate beauty in a woman? It is one of the great pleasures in life, at least for me. We all know beauty exists, that some woman are more attractive than others, but we are not supposed to acknowledge it. Look, I am not saying that a pretty girl is better, overall than a non-attractive girl. The ugly girl may be a saint. I am just appreciating the beauty, that’s it. If I say that Ty Cobb was a great ballplayer, it doesn’t mean that I am saying that he was a great human being (he wasn’t). Why can’t we just leave it at that?
