IMHO, irrespective of the conspiracy theories, there's more than enough bonafide information over the years showing how covert and corrupt government and politics is at all levels such that it is the responsibility of each and every citizen to be continuously wary and never ever hand the reigns of power over to anyone for more than a short period of time. There should be absolutely no way to make a career in politics. I would put an absolute limit on time spent in elected office, and no one would be allowed to ‘serve’ more than 10 years total (combined time including any office at any level).

I don't think there is any necessity for anyone at any level (including the Presidency) to have ‘public office’ experience in order to ‘serve’ in those positions. The types of ‘experience’ and qualifications that should be looked at are ones achievements and contributions as a private citizen. Being able to choose good advisers, to take good advice, and to efficiency delegate are really what's needed in any of these positions.

As long as we have career politicians it is guaranteed that we will have government corruption. The two are inseparable. That's not to say that all career politicians are corrupt, but there are enough of them such that the risk is too high. Serve, then go home and do something else with your life.

If the CIA didn’t want Kennedy, they could have destroyed his political career well before be became President by releasing info about his numerous affairs. Kennedy’s assassination much better fits a payback by Sam Giancana for double crossing the Mob. The mob helped rig the Illinois election as a favor. Kennedy, and brother Bobby, thought they could use their governmental power to take out the mob. They thought wrong. The mob doesn’t like being crossed.

I’ve always wondered if the missing Watergate tape minutes were with regard to JFK’s assassination. Right before the gap Nixon mentions something about “that whole Cuban thing.”

Not that Nixon was involved in the assasination, but he would have protected the CIA, etc. if they had been involved. The last thing the country needed was something like that exposed.
