Usage of round up in agriculture, aluminum from cans, cookware and from geo-engineering (climate control). A country that uses herbicides in place of manual weeding and drying of crops, deserves the insanity that comes their way.

Thank you, Yaelle. You have my sympathy and prayers too. It’s a terrible nightmare for both the victim and the caregiver and other family members too. Only those who have been close to it can possibly understand what it does and doesn’t do to a person.

If there were someone doing this to the sufferer it would be the worst sort of cruelty. But there is no one to blame, it just happens.

I know it’s wiseguy wisecracking. I actually appreciate it. Trump has started to bring back the good ol’ days when it was OK to joke around and people, especially women, didn’t get all pissy and offended. The extreme PC we’ve been subjected to for 20 years has taken all the fun out of life and created a generation of the perpetually offended.

“...I am in early stage Alzheimers and under treatment. Any advice to my daughters?...”

Very sorry to hear that. It runs in my family too and my expectation is that I won’t escape it either. I sure wouldn’t mind being happily surprised if something as promising as the Aussie’s research proves out and is allowed by our FDA in my lifetime. But if not, given enough time, I probably won’t be aware enough to care.

However, promising research continues and I am very optimistic that our children will likely have — if not a preventative, some treatment/therapy available to them that, if needed, has very good efficacy.

I'm sorry to hear about your problem. I would like to suggest a couple of resources.

The first is a summary of Alzheimer's and insulin resistance:

Alzheimer's disease and insulin resistance: translating basic science into clinical applications

The second are some YouTube videos By Mary Newport MD. Dr. Newport was a neonatologist and her husband came down with a particularly rapid course. She did her own basic research and came up with a treatment for her husband. Here is a list from Youtube.

Coconut Oil and Alzheimer's

These videos have more to do with using medium chain triglycerides (MCT) for ketone production. There are multiple pathways for feeding the human brain. MCTs have been shown to bypass the glucose cycle. There are also specific MCT oils that can be purchased and incorporated in our diets.

Finally, if you would like some other suggestions please feel free to Freepmail me.

Best regards.

If we awaken and energize the body of Christ- if Christians and people of faith come out and vote our values- we will win

That seems plausible.

Obviously you don’t know much about Scientology. It is a mind over matter philosophy with the goal of achieving the ultimate “Clear” state. That state (which no one has ever achieved) promises to eliminate all illnesses. In various places Hubbard has written that once the painful experiences and associations are drained off, arthritis, eye conditions, heart conditions, cancer, all psychosomatic illnesses, morning sickness, ulcers, tuberculosis, the common cold, the common cough, illness from bacterial or virus infections, alcoholism and a multitude of other complaints and conditions will be no more. The only one who can cure the physical malady without medical science is Jesus Christ. Those who believe in Jesus are not so much concerned about their physical health as are their spiritual health.

I’m not really interested in Scientology, nor does this thread concern it, nor does it alone comprise the vast topic of mind-body interaction, nor is equating the two as you have done anything more than the cheapest sort of implied straw-man argument, nor does Christianity require crude materialism for its validity.

Thanks for playing. Goodbye.

And yet he was exactly right and identified the flaw in the article quite specifically. What kind of tool are you, a bag of hammers?

Great, another one who wouldn't recognize a scientific statement if it ran over him.

I've been an herbalist for 24 years, went to one of the best herbal schools in the country in '94 and have studied many other "alternative" healing arts and worked with people in them. I was also raised by a physician.

Your gross generalities constitute misinformation about many carefully researched and interlocking health issues. This isn't 1950, you're so far behind the medical mind-body research curve you're not even in the conversation.

That statement indicates that you think this article/study has something to do with mind-body medicine. That shows that you don't know diddly squat about mind-body medicine.

But I do think the perfect karma for you is the inevitable results of your own rejection of the power of your own mind in your own physical health.

Having been a practitioner of Tibetan Tantric Buddhism for 18 years I can say without hesitation that you don't even have the most rudimentary understanding of what karma is or how it works based on that moronic statement. In short, you're a fraud and an idiot.

Nasty things have been said about not just the elderly but also those overweight, women, teachers, social workers, motorcycle riders, government workers, etc. Unfortunately, there are a few who get their jollies polluting the pool.

I am quite convinced my relative does not have Alzheimer’s, only some dementia, as Alzheimer’s is not known to reverse and improve (dramatically). Additionally, neither class of medication marketed for ALZ had much, if any, effect.

In short, you're a fraud and an idiot.

As nothing you've said backs up any of your conclusions, you're irrelevant.

18 years of Tibetan Tantric Buddhism? LOL, yeah, your mastery of your emotions is apparent, oh master. Do you get to wear the pointy hat when you practice your "meditations?" ROFL!

That statement indicates that you think this article/study has something to do with mind-body medicine. That shows that you don't know diddly squat about mind-body medicine.

From article:"The logic of the conclusion is easy to understand: When someone who is negative about aging begins growing old, they will put forth less effort. They will use fewer adaptive strategies, and will try to avoid challenging situations. And since the brain is a "use it or lose it" organ, avoiding challenges and reducing effort leads to physical deterioration."

---

Yeah, nothing mind-body about that.

And since it's the ONLY subject of the article, it's easy to see why you missed it.

This is hilarious. Not even the authors of the article or the study are claiming it to be mind-body medicine.

Zappa wrote a song about you a long time ago.

Your compulsion to vomit out personal insults is tedious. Combined with the extremity of your lies, I’d say you’re about twelve, psychologically.

Maybe ten.

Alzheimer’s care givers are 7 times more likely to be diagnosed with the ailment.

Interesting stat. My wife and I were the caregivers for my mother who was afflicted, mostly due to our geography. My brother and sister to this day (Mom died almost 7 years ago) remain spooked that they'll join "the club".....Sis, especially, is over the cliff with her fears - to the point that it's affected her family life.

Me? I don't sweat it -- unless I forget why I walked from the TV room to the kitchen!

You sure do project a lot. It seems to be your only trick. You start out insulting a poster for no reason at all then infer that another poster isn't in control of their emotions. Without any evidence. Now you whine about being insulted. (FWIW "controlling emotions" is not an aim of meditation. Your ignorance of karma was exceeded by that little gem.)

Then you toss out an accusation about employing straw man arguments when your entire tirade is about mind-body medicine which is not remotely associated with the article or study. More projection.

Only to be surpassed by the projection that posters here aren't engaged in "the conversation" when all you're capable of is the nya nya nya banter of a jr. high playground. Amazing!

Let's recap all of the things you revealed profound ignorance of...

This would really be a very sad thing if you weren't such an arrogant douche. lol
