âAn evil soul producing holy witness, Is like a villain with a smiling cheek, A goodly apple rotten at the heart. O, what a goodly outside falsehood hath!â â Shakespeare, from âThe Merchant of Veniceâ
If grizzly bears ripped through your hometown leaving a wake of death and destruction, wouldnât the townspeople do everything in their power to stop them? Wouldnât you warn the neighboring town?
What if the neighboring town said, âOh, the state negotiated with the bears already and assured us the grizzlies are peaceful. The bears mean no harm and are offended we see them as a threat. By the way, they prefer to be called URSUS, so be sensitive to their feelings.â
Do we take the grizzliesâ word as proof of their true character? If the state accepts this fraud as the truth, weâre in big trouble. We are left to defend ourselves when that is a specific task rightly delegated to the state.
Political correctness (PC) is changing Americaâs relationships by diminishing our ability to communicate accurately. PC can even get us killed.
Does it never dawn on us to dispute our enemies? If we know they are enemies of liberty, what makes us think they wouldnât use deceit to promote their evil agenda? Why is it called âhate speechâ (a PC term) to acknowledge this fact?
Recognizing our enemies calls for critical thinking; the process of analyzing facts and looking at an issue objectively. One can only squeak by for so long without critical thinking skills.

One of the things I love about Trump is that he is taking s sledge hammer against PC speech.
If we’re going to restore sanity in this country PC speech (lies dressed up as politeness) and its pushers must be destroyed.
Good article. Merry Christmas eve!
There are two ditches; one is PC the other is incendiary language. Speaking the truth in love is the path that avoids both ditches. Love does not mean provoking warm feelings, but concern for the well being of others. For instance, saying to a young feminist that killing babies is murder one is speaking the truth while exhorting the would-be murderer to avoid committing a crime against her child and God, and hoping to preserve the life of the child. The words are strong and unyielding, they are not PC but they are not needlessly incendiary. Needlessly incendiary might be more like telling that feminist that "bitches who have had abortions should all be lined up and have their brains sucked out, just like they did to their baby." There is no love in such a statement, although more than a fair amount of truth. But even that statement can be balanced with something like "...that is justice for what these women did, but Christ came to earth that even sinners as evil as those who murdered their own child might have hope and forgiveness before God." Now the truth is spoken with love. Words matter and the tone and motivation behind them. Truth is not a weapon to hurt others, rather weapons are used to defend the truth.
I'll take No. 2 for $1,000 Alex. Many of us have had enough of this mamby-pamby approach you suggest. It gets no coverage or changes anyone's opinion. Incendiary language on the other hand, gives the opposition an "Oh Crap, they've wised up" moment.
