How about pointing out that Islam is not a religion nor is it a cult. It is a complete system.
Islam has religious, legal, political, economic and military components. The religious component is a beard for all the other components.
That has been tried. If you knew the department of the government that determined who and what was a religion you would have a cow! Yes I kid you not it is the IRS!
