There are many people prone to concern whenever the “corporate media”, “professional political class” or “Park Row” attack their preferred candidate. By allowing the MSM to generate your anxiety you are essentially allowing them to “gaslight”, and to succeed.
Most people don’t recognize they are victims of Stockholm Syndrome and/or Gaslighting when it occurs; it is such a frequent state of affairs it just seems like a normal disposition – It is not. Politics are downstream from popular culture.
In part, the elimination of corporate media influence is one of the reasons for the The Last Refuge to exist. Think about how widely disconnected was the media narrative from the true events surrounding the Arab Spring, or the Trayvon Martin Case, or the Mike Brown shooting, or, well, you get the picture.
There are actually historical examples for populations that “awaken”, and realize their reference points were all manufactured control by State and State Sponsored Media apparatus – See the Polish Solidarity Movement.
Yesterday we shared a comment/question about Frank Luntz’s focus group motives and intents. KathyCA, a brilliant mind, shared some common sense in that regard, and deserves expansion:
Absolutely. One of the main reasons Trump has such yuge support, imo, is because he's taken on the media and the GOPe on behalf of the average citizen who thinks the way he does but has become afraid to say so.
Like the CTH, he makes people realize they are NOT in a tiny, vulgar, misguided minority-indeed, they're not a minority at all. They've just been brainwashed to think so.
So Trump says "pan the crowds" - you're not alone! And Luntz tries to do the same in the opposite direction. Thankfully, Luntz's efforts haven't been effective, to say the least. (link)
Kathyca is 100% spot on. Donald Trump says to the media “pan the crowds“, not because he wants to inflate his own ego or following, but rather because he needs YOU to see the visible representation that YOUR opinions and beliefs are widely held.
Trump is countering the MSM narrative which wants YOU to believe YOUR opinions are in the minority, and THEIR opinions as delivered are the MAJORITY. This is how the corporate media influence you.

Candidate Donald Trump’s Iowa Team is the most effective, competent and organized in the election cycle. Led by a proven winner, Chuck Laudner, with a proven winning track record of organization and victory. Do you really think Billionaire Trump became a best-in-class businessman without being intensely diligent?
Donald Trump says: “pan the crowds” to show you the scope of your own thought is common.
Frank Luntz does the opposite. In essence his focus groups, as broadcast, are intended to STOP THE PANNING and focus in only on that aspect he is paid to control and deliver targeted toward you – us – all of us.
Trump says: “remove the blinders“. Luntz says: “use my blinders“…
…. and Luntz’s blinders, like the Park Row column inches used, are engineered and designed for specific purposes and intents.
The press pans the crowds for Bernie Sanford, but finds it technically impossible to pan Trump’s.
They have an agenda. They do not intendto Make America Great again.
But at Trump rallys they’ll immediately turn their cameras on a protester.

There is no need to make America great. The rich donors are ALREADY doing great! They want nothing changed. The cheap labor express of illegals, cheap H1-B visa workers, admitting low net worth and low skilled legal immigrants, passing Obamatrade, are tools of the rich donors and the chamber of commerce to screw the vast hard working American working class.
If Trump succeeds in helping the vast (but shrinking by design by the rich donors) middle class, that upsets the apple cart.
He used to be on the old NET satellite network (National Empowerment Television) all the time along with someone called Kelly Ann Fitzpatrick.
NET was run by Paul Weyrich... a really nice guy.
I voted for rubio, attended a TEA event where he spoke. Now he couldn’t draw 2 fleas and a maggot.
A convex mirror would work better than a concave one, IMO.

Suddenly there was a guy on the radio saying what I thought. I wasn't a lone nut anymore. There were a bunch of other nuts out there. But we were still out of the mainstream. Everybody told us so.
Now with Trump people are slowly beginning to realize they ARE the mainstream.
In this particular photo, the *do* looks very similar to one Jerry Lewis favored earlier in his career. Frank’s head is wider so it looks a bit different on him.
Watching the rat debate and found the need for a well deserved break.
