Who knows how things will turn out. It might be something as simple as selling a friend/acquaintance some guns because you need money.
Of all the guns I have, I’ve done that once. Sold one to my best friend. He died about 7 years ago and when I recently read that the specific gun was under recall to Taurus for AD defect, I bought it back from his widow at the price he paid for it. Otherwise, I’ve never sold a gun of mine, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t if I was reasonably sure they weren’t a potential kook.
We’ll just have to wait and see how this shakes out.
I wonder why the guy checked himself into a mental hospital three hours after the Islamic terrorist massacre. To avoid dealing with the authorities? Did he lawyer up at the same time?

Could be one of those two reasons. It could also be that he really is broken because guns he sold this maniac killed 14 people. I think if that happened to me, I’d be close to a nervous breakdown, myself.
I don’t know what the reason is now. I’m guessing we’ll find out, but you can bet that media and government is going to crucify him because they are looking for any excuse to share blame for this as well as push an anti-gun agenda....a likely fall out in California will probably be that all private sales have to go through background checks.
We shall see.

Hospitals have mental “wings” which are secured such that patients can’t simply walk out. Near me, one hospital has a separate building for mental health, one floor of which is locked down. I know someone who worked there.
So if you call 911 claiming thoughts of suicide, for example, that’s where you go.
Well that would be a perfect world. What a wonderful thought.

Are we really believing this story? Really? Not me.
People are shielded by privacy laws on psych hospitals the laws go far beyond what normal med privacy contains. Have seen criminals check in to psych hospitals. and more.

Moral of the story:
NEVER SELL A GUN TO A MUSLIM.
Today’s “moderate” (taqiyya) Muslim can be tomorrow’s terrorist.
If “moderate” Muslims can’t tell, how can we? We can’t.
Extra-judicial punishment. They trashed and wrecked the house, and arrived at 3AM with flashing lights and loudspeakers to freak out the neighbors, instead of ringing the door in daytime with a warrant.
And who the hell is paying for it?
