It's been interesting flipping the channels and reading the various online sources covering this latest atrocity -- mostly what it tells is the biases of the various "news" outlets. Those that are more fact-oriented are actually telling us what is going on. The majority are represented by the linked editorial -- which found no room for the nationality or motivations of the shooters.
Apparently, some of the neighbors were worried about the perpetrators' behavior beforehand, but were reluctant to report it, lest they be considered racist against practitioners of a religion that is over-represented when it comes to violence motivated by religion.
That sort of squeamishness has proven to cost lives before and is the real source of danger today, not the NRA and other Second Amendment supporters.
On CNN, it pleased Our President to point out that there are "no-fly" lists for terrorists, but anyone can drive into a store and purchase firearms. He also could not bring himself to discuss the fact that one of the shooting suspects is named Syed Farook.
And those such as the editorial writer below certainly do not want to explore what John R Lott Jr has demonstrated with exhaustive research -- that the safest places for criminals, crazies and terrorists are gun-free zones such as those that proliferate in the state of California.
As we saw earlier this year in May, another Islamic atrocity was cut short in Garland, Texas because the would-be mass murderers didn't even make it out of the parking lot. But that's Texas, not California.
But the Left is not interested in facts and continues to make the case for making us even more vulnerable as they bleat for the unilateral disarmament of law-abiding citizens as the panacea.
They couldn't be more wrong. All criminals cannot be prevented from shooting up places they plan to rob. All crazies cannot be identified before they take it into their twisted minds to gun down innocents. All terrorists cannot be intercepted before they take up arms against our citizens in their evil pursuit of spiritual redemption built upon stacks of our corpses.
In all of these cases, the best insurance is to have armed, law-abiding citizens integrated amongst us -- to cut short a mass-murder while it is in progress.
But the fascist Left would rather us be helpless instead so our deaths can be flogged for political gain. Hence, they continue to seek to undermine our most basic of rights -- including that of self-defense -- in the pursuit of the false security of dependency upon those who are Smarter than us and know better.
We Will NOT Disarm.
Yes. Refuse to defend the country from terrorists. Then disarm people so they are unable to defend themselves.
So.... if I am following the logic we don’t need troops in the Middle East. We just need gun control there.

I watched several different news channels tonight, including local, and most only mentioned the guy’s name once, if at all.
They’re also pushing the story that the guy worked there, got pissed and left and came back with two friends. This will be called workplace violence. Bet on it!

They are more than welcome to disarm themselves, and post a sign declaring a gun free zone on their front doors and while they’re at it maybe they should just have designated victim tattooed on their foreheads.

Adam Nagourney is leading the New York Times reporting team that flew in to La-La today. In case you haven't heard of him, he's the openly-gay ex-chief POLITIClAL writer (not CRIME writer, guys?) of the NYT.
Nagourney's gang also emphasized a "workplace issues" approach and didn't mention Shooter Syed's wife's citizenship, which is Saudi. He went over there, married her, brought her back to the States no sweat.
Next thing you know, exurban LA cops are shooting her down in the street as she runs around in black fatigues, shooting at cops.
But let's not say where she is from. That would undercut the narrative you mentioned.
The Timesmen did have to report that the LA cops don't think it's "workplace violence" no way no how.
But the Times did not use the words "Moslem", "Islam", "jihad", or "Saudi" even once, much less "ISIS" or "Al Q'aeda".
