Rush is right of course but Trump MAY be the only candidate able to get us going in the right direction. Something to think about folks.

There is a lot of hot rhetoric here on FR, which is as it should be. But none of Trump's defenders think he is "conservative" on a litmus test of issues. In fact, on such a scale Rubio is probably "more conservative."

But then you get to two key components that take priority over everything: 1) immigration and 2) does he love America over some international order?

When these are prioritized, he is clearly first with Cruz very close.

But then you add "trust" which is not only do you trust him to do the right thing but do you trust that he will have the financial, party, and mental independence from the "machine" to do what we want to see done? I think on this he is well above Cruz.

The comparison isn't perfect, but in WW II the British chose Churchill even though they (wrongly) didn't like any of his social philosophy because they needed to survive first. Our priority is to survive this invasion from two fronts.

True, and since Reagan can’t run again, and his physical condition would exclude him from doing anything but voting democrat, we will have to give up on him for now. Trump, and/or Cruz are good choices,IMHO...

Once again, Rush agrees with me. I know Trump is no conservative. Not being a conservative in no way disqualifies him from my vote, it just means I have questions about his vision and plans for this nation.
I find some of his past associations and statements troubling, but he ,like Carson and Fiorina has never voted to raise my taxes, commit this nation to a war, take away my freedoms, debase our currency saddle us and our children with unbearable debt and oh so many others.
Damned right I would/will vote for Trump.

Rush is wrong because Rush is really a Libertarian pretending to be a conservative. He makes a lot of money doing it and is entertaining but he is no more a conservative than Trump.

I feel the same way.

I also like his pride in the USA and the wish to get rid of the illegal aliens. Also to refuse the refugees coming in, seeing them as a danger to the US citizens.

These are major to me.

True, but why not go with a sure thing, like Cruz?

He wasn’tdissong Trump—he was dissing the GOPe for trying to take down the one candidate that fits what they purportedly have been looking for. But because they don’t own him and can’t control him, they are hypocritical jackasses for trying to take out the very guy who could win the White House for them.

Trump leans right—but he’s not a Conservative—he’s a Capitalist and that’s what we need now. He can unite the folks and restore trust—why are so many trying to stop him and foist “Its my Turn” Bush upon us? Why do people want to draft a failed retread like Mittens? Cruz is good but he has baggage (The man who closed down the government mantra) I know a President Trump would pick the best guys to do the Nations business because he want a good environment for Capitalism. “Whats good for Trump is good for the USA>” Sad but the GOPe has failed us—maybe it needs to go the way of the Whigs. Maybe Trump needs a new 3rd Party—a party that could be the real 2nd party. A new Federalist Party—Lion as a symbol, Liberty as a watchword. Seek a united front and not a mixture of minorities.

That’s okay. If Trump can win, he will put a halt to Hillary, etal and we can get Cruz in next time.
