Intelligence agencies say Islamic State may be telling the truth by claiming responsibility for the attack.
U.S. and European intelligence agencies now believe that the Russian airliner downed in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula on the weekend was probably taken out by a bomb planted onboard by an Islamic State-affiliated terrorist group, according to media reports.
The Russian airplane may have been attacked by Islamic State (a.k.a. ISIS, ISIL, and Daesh) because Russia is waging war against it.
This is TWA 800 all over again. They’d rather say it was Charizard the Fire Pokémon than admit it was downed by a SAM.
Why?
Because it was probably a US made weapon. Because the Russians can’t afford to make this conflict such that it completely shuts down the economy, or launches all out sanctions on Russia. They are barely making it right now. Putin is getting things done on the presumption nobody wants to go toe-to-toe with the Russians and launch WWIII (or WWIV if you count the last 10 years as a world war).
If this had been an American jet, Barry would have had it ruled as a fuel tank over pressurization explosion just like TWA 800.

This is exactly what I thought when I first heard the details. Some member of the Muslim ground crew snuck that thing on board.
More like, Putin will have the KGB (or whatever it is called nowadays) identify all the members of the ground crew who could have planted that bomb, Kill them. Kill their families, and kill anyone else they see as being connected with it.
The Russians do not play stupid games.

It was a MANPAD, likely one of the THOUSANDS that Obama and Hillary were ‘walking’ out of the Benghazi Consulate into what became ISIS in Syria. (think Gunwalker, but with heavy weapons).
ISIS even posted a video (linked above by fella) that shows them blowing it out of the sky.
I never had any doubt that this was the reason. Now Russia needs to find the perpetrators (Ground Crew at the Egyptian airport) and kill them and their families.
As a matter of fact, I think the idea of killing all members of the immediate families of terrorists is a very functional and effective methodology.
If you follow this policy consistently and make it known, you create the conditions where families will kill their own rather than let them endanger the whole family.
Ergo, much less terrorism.
If this video is authentic, the explosion shown on the video could still be a result of a bomb on board. While the video is not the best of quality, I think we should have seen some evidence of a missile in the video hitting the plane?
