Scott Hunt has no interest in building a bomb out of a paper clip, but as a survivalist prepper, Hunt savors the idea of being somewhat of a MacGyver-type. Thats what I do, says Hunt a professional prepper who is a mentor to the survivalists preparing for the worst on the National Geographic Channel series, Doomsday Preppers.
Hunt is among the growing number of Americans who want to thrive when the unexpected happens. We've seen recent natural disasters like Hurricane Katrina on the Gulf Coast, Super Storm Sandy along the Atlantic Seaboard and devastating tornadoes throughout the Central Plains. What happens when you could possibly lose everything, and individually that could be a job, a family member or your life savings?
That's where Hunt's company he started three years ago, Practical Preppers, hopes to get people started on having a plan in place in the event of a calamity like, and Alaskans know these are very possible, earth quakes or fires. Many of his how-to videos available on his website or YouTube channel (youtube.com/user/engineer775) show him working with enough gadgets to keep James Bond comfortable if one of the villains he's battling actually does succeed with world destruction. Obama’s last year as President(maybe) will be very close to Doomsday
Preppers’ PING!!
Hat tip to TADSLOS and DuncanWaring for the heads up.
I hate the term Doomsday! I know I don’t prep for Doomsday, but there are plenty of things to prep for that are much farther down the list. We get so many anti-preppers on these threads declaring it isn’t going to happen, because it never has or it only happens in third world countries. Well unfortunately I believe we are watch a slow motion SHTF even right now though many don’t see it. 1st World western Europe is being invaded as I write this and sooner or later there will be carnage in the streets there that hasn’t been seen since WW II.
It seems that no one mentions a pair of reading glasses and a Bible.
Wait. I thought Doomsday was when Donald Trump got elected?
I was never convinced that submission in all cases is a good thing.
There are always exceptions where the passive act of submission is a long-term mistake that probably cannot be rectified........ever..
It does not matter much as to how you express passivity, be it a Bible or the campfire song kumbaya, the end result is submission.
Well, unfortunately I believe we are watching a slow-motion SHTF even right now though many dont see it.

Stopped reading there. Richard Dean Anderson, is a gun grabbing, global climate change, candy bottom Socialist. He should choke to death in a tidal pool filled with crude oil from the Exxon Valdez.
You gotta come up with something new brah.
Stopped reading there.
Makes no sense. The MacGuyver character is not RD Anderson. Are you against Reagan because some Hollywood lefty played him?
the end result is submission.
Submission to God not man.
Prepping doesn’t have to be just about a least likely sudden zombie apocalypse made for the movies. Just ask any hurricane/tornado/earthquake survivor. Prepping is a state of mind taken into action. You are either prepared at some level or you aren’t. It’s the totally unprepared and clueless who peak out the bell curve of victims and/or the looting horde (see Katrina).
The water is going round and round, and it picks up speed once it gets toward the bottom of the drain. Especially if the handle gets cranked on again.
Yes it is. Now get back in the cattle car; there'll be a nice hot shower waiting for you when you arrive at the relocation camp.
