I have been on Facebook for a few years and love it. It is a way to keep up with relatives and friends. One of my nieces husband was in a serious motorcycle wreck in another state and my niece keeps everyone updated on his progress. He was in another state when he had the wreck back in August and he is in a different hospital now. I also get conservative news from a number if sites. Really enjoy it. Facebook is what a person makes it.

Facebook is what a person makes it.

Just as with any tool. I use it the same way you do for the most part. I keep up with friends and family, share some pics and videos, and offer the occasional humorous (in my mind) comment. I don't care about likes, shares, etc.

I think Facebook and Twitter out the narcissists. I see others that regularly use Facebook as a platform for bragging (whether overtly bragging or using the annoying humblebrag), for fishing for compliments, and for offering up the vague "end-of-the-world" status designed to elicit "Oh no, what's wrong?" responses. Many of these people were like this before social media became a thing.
