This is Joey's third bout of cancer, first was cervical cancer just after she had her baby Indiana Boone. Just before Indiana turned 1, a 9 mm sigmoid tumnor was found in her colon. She has completed surgery and treatment for that. When she went for her check up 2 more small tumors were found plus some small spots.

Joey is the female half of the C & W duo Joey and Rory Feek. She is just 40. Indiana is her only child.

I agree with Pastor Joseph Prince (among others); Jesus bore our diseases as well as our sins; and it is not necessary to DO anything to “earn” or be worthy of healing (it is a gift), just as it is not necessary to “earn” salvation; it is a gift.

Begging, hoping, crawling on all fours to a chapel, or passing a theological exam with the “right” views, is not necessary (and a denial that Jesus’ sufferings meant what they do mean.)

Just accept what was already bought for you.

What did Jesus do in the gospels? Well, the modern church seems to think that he went around seeing the multitudes, and here and there, at random, he healed one or two people (who must have been worthy of it).

And elsewhere, he actually gave disease and suffering to some who needed a “lesson”.

And to the widow of Nain, he just said, “Well, your son died as part of God’s mysterious plan, which you can’t understand right now.”

All of which is bunk.

Churches tend to teach Stoicism (”be brave and bear it”), instead of Christianity and Jesus as he really was.

Joey is a strong woman of faith in GOD, she is leaning on His arms and the strength of her family. She will live each day to it’s fullest, trusting in HIM.

This is a very fast spreading cancer.

We don’t know what God’s will is. It is in HIS hands now. We are asked to pray one for another. That is all I ask from any believer. God has wrought many miracles, when it is HIS will. In the end we have to accept His will.

John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

“This is a very fast spreading cancer.”

It’s not more powerful than the blood of Jesus.

“We don’t know what God’s will is.”

Yeah, we do. Whether Joey is to die soon or not, is unknown. But we can know that she isn’t supposed to suffer from a horrible cancer. (No one is.)

“In the end we have to accept His will.”

That’s stoicism. The gospels present a better picture.

“Joey is a strong woman of faith in GOD”

Hmmm...do you think all those that Jesus healed (and he healed multitudes, not leaving anybody out) were all “strong people of faith”?

Or that they were all somehow capable of “earning” or “deserving” healing? (Maybe because of their “strong faith”?)

(How about the Samaritans healed of leprosy, who didn’t even come back and thank him?)

Something is missing in the churches’ positions on this topic. (Hint: it’s not YOUR faith and YOUR worthiness that have anything to do with healing, any more than it is YOUR faith and YOUR worthiness that bring you salvation. Both are free gifts. Already paid for.)

PLEASE LET’S LEAVE the discussion of religion out of a prayer thread. We each have our own beliefs.

Just do as Jesus commanded us to do to pray one for another. We don’t always get the answers we want, but HE does answer in HIS way.

We can discuss our different beliefs elsewhere. It’s not about whose faith is the strongest, or most referent, it is about taking a minute and saying a prayer if you believe in such.

Thank you.

Nothing is more powerful than the blood of Christ. We can just do as HE commanded to pray for one another.

No responses are needed, I did not post this pray thread for any reason but to have strong prayer warriors know that there is a need for prayer for Joey. May HIS will be done.

Enough, now it’s in GOD’s Hands as both Joey and Rory have said.

I’ve really liked them for years since they were on CMT’s “Can You Duet?” Their music, love for God and for each other is such an inspiration. She sings a beautiful, but sad song called “When I’m Gone”, and the tragedy in the song appears to be happening all too soon. They’ll be in my prayers.

May God’s will be done, including giving peace and consolation. May God be with them all during this trial and may His mercy be seen and witnessed by all.

Thank you all for taking the time to pray for Joey and others who are sick and in need of divine healing. We know If it is HIS will it will be done. Clinging to that hope and His hand.
