Police are out of control. Looks like they have it out for little girls and dogs. What’s next? Church and school attacks?
Over the years I have come to believe the worst thing you can do is call 911. I hate to say this but it looks more true everyday.

When it's your safety that is involved, that is often true (i.e., the worst thing you can do is call 911). Call 911 after you've eliminated the threat, because you're likely to be a statistic if you call 911 while the threat is still present. Remember, when seconds count the police are still minutes away.
Agree on calling 911 (unless it is absolutely necessary). One never knows who will show up at your door - it will probably be a good and competent cop, but there’s a chance it may be a bad or incompetent person.
