In The Syndemic of STDs and AIDS among MSM, sympathetic author Dale O'Leary, author of One Man, One Woman: A Catholic's Guide to Defending Marriage, mourns the fact of the high incidence of childhood sexual abuse against those who later end up in a homosexual lifestyle.
MSM are more likely to have been victims of childhood sexual abuse. Stall and associates note that a history of childhood sexual abuse (CSA) has been linked to increase risk of HIV infection.
...mounting research evidence suggests that men with a history of unwanted sexual activity during childhood are more likely than those without such a history to engage in sexual practices that place them at risk for contracting HIV.
This was confirmed by other studies, including one by Zieler and associates which found that men reporting childhood sexual abuse were 8 times more likely to be involved in prostitution, 2.4 times to have multiple partners, and 1.2 time more likely to have anonymous partners.
Such behavior would increase the risk of contracting HIV.
A study by Bartholow and associates found that gay men, who had been victims of forced sexual contact as children were more likely to engage in unprotected sex, exchange sex for money or drugs and be HIV or syphilis positive.
A study of homosexual and bisexual men found that:
Childhood sexual abuse was reported by 15.5% of the survey respondents Those who reported experiencing abuse regularly were more likely to (1) be HIV positive, (2) have exchanged sex for payment, and (3) be a current user of sex-related drugs.
A study from New Zealand found that people who experience trauma or disruption in their childhoods were more likely to have engaged in homosexual behavior or self-identify as gay.
People brought up with a step-parent or two non-biological parents were less likely to be exclusively heterosexual. Adverse events in childhood, particularly sexual assault and rape, were associated with increased likelihood of belong to all of the non-exclusively heterosexual groups.
A study by Jorm and associates found more childhood adversity among those with same-sex partners than those without. Still another study found that:
Lesbians and gay men, bisexuals, and heterosexuals who reported any same-sex sexual partners over their lifetime had greater risk of childhood maltreatment, interpersonal violence, trauma to a close friend or relative, and unexpected death of someone close than did heterosexuals with no same-sex attractions or partners.
Sexual coercion and outright rape is not uncommon among MSM. One study of MSM found that
29% of the participants reported being coerced into unwanted sexual contact and 92% of the time the coercion involved unprotected anal intercourse.
Another study found that 12% of gay men reported being victims of forced sex by their current or most recent partners, while 5.9% reported being perpetrators of forced sex. A study of university students found that “sexual victimization experienced by gay/bisexual students is greater than experienced by heterosexual students.” In another study of 2,881 MSM, 34% reported psychological battering, 22% physical battering, and 5% sexual battering. This rate is higher than that for heterosexual men and women.

Notre Dame University has denied official recognition of a student group promoting policymaking that places primary emphasis on advocacy explicitly for the interests of children in considerations about so-called “Gay Marriage”. The quest for recognition by Students for Child-Oriented Policy (SCOP), was rejected in an April 30 letter from the university’s Student Activities Office.
In evaluating a proposal, approval is based on several things. There was not a need for another similar-type club. The Club Coordination Council
SCOP’s Notre Dame Marriage Petition cites Pope Francis and the Catechism of the Catholic Church in support of the group’s quest to promote children’s interests as equally valid to the now-exclusive consideration given adults’ interests regarding so-called “Marriage Equity”.
“We reject the view that the young have agreed to redefine marriage. Rather, we think that they have not explored the meaning and importance of marriage.”
Students for Child-Oriented Policy
An opposing group, Students Against SCOP, asserts that SCOP makes “incorrect implications that same-sex parenting is damaging to children this blatantly ignores all empirical data in this field of the social sciences.”

The most scientifically credible studies show that children of heterosexual parents fare better on numerous indicators of personal well-being than children of homosexual parents. Authored by Mark Regnerus, a sociology professor at the University of Texas at Austin, the study was published in the July 2012 issue of Social Science Research.
Regnerus’ findings conflict with studies widely touted by homosexual activists which have claimed that children raised by homosexual parents fare as well or even better than their peers. Many of these studies, Regnerus points out, have relied on small, self-selected samples, parent rather than child reported outcomes, and have exhibited evidence of political bias.
Regnerus drew his data from the New Family Structures Study, a data collection project that drew from a large, random sample of American young adults. This study is one of the few that measures outcomes as reported by the children of homosexuals, rather than relying on an assessment by the homosexual parent.
A large-scale study by Douglas W. Allen, professor of economics at Simon Fraser University, has found that children in same-sex households were only 65 percent as likely to graduate from high school as those living in traditional opposite sex marriage families.
Trolls, don’t let the sun find you above ground.

Dear Brother;
A Prominent, Respected, Erudite, Urologist, Teacher, Professor, and Surgeon by the name of Dr. Church LOST HIS POSITION at Boston’s Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital for merely stating those absolutely true statistics in a private meeting.
Dr. O’Leary had better watch his back!
Prayers for both of the good Doctors for their safety, livelihood, and reputations in Jesus Holy Name, Amen.
Only 10% of homosexuals used to claim “born that way”? That “born that way” is such BS. I think the fact that most homosexuals don’t want to admit to being victims of child molestation, because they don’t want to admit their desire to molest more children, is the truest fact about sodomites.
A doctors’ group said firing someone for saying the truth means going to the doctor just got really scary.
You need to put this on a website, so it can be shared.
To be sure, being molested doesn’t mean that you will become homosexual.
We’ve had FReepers post that they didn’t even recall having been molested as children, until they were in their 30’s. (They were straight)
Yes indeed. They are right about that.
BI/Deaconess and Harvard Medical are (were) internationally renowned. These latest developments plunge their credibility down to “village witch-doctor” in my estimation.
