I think Mr. Lott made some very reasonable points. He could also have pointed out it was the ACLU that worked tirelessly for the ‘rights’ of the mentally ill back in the late 1960s early 1970s. This resulted in the closing down of state run mental hospitals and meant that the mentally unstable either were relegated to the street or to jail. Not sure that this was a factor in this instance in Oregon but there is a direct tie to many other mass shootings.
