Maybe it’s just that I’ve been on FR for a long while, but is DEBKA even remotely reliable these days?

Folks, I just discovered there was another thread started yesterday on this topic.

As for Debra - I’ve gotten the impression it’s been an Israel news trial balloon source in the past.
This story’s gist appears to be believable development.

An immediate concern I have is Russia providing advanced weaponry to Iran, and Palestinian terrorists, ie: latest Manpad stinger like missiles, and other surface-to-air weaponry which could cause big Israeli aircraft / crew casualties.

When they are not attempting to seed disinformation about internal or Palestinian movements - Yes. Debka is very accurate and reliable. This is an existential crisis for Israel, worse with the introduction of SA-300 systems Israel no longer has control of their own airspace, let alone the ability to attack Palestinian, Hezbollah, Hamas, or ISIS without a Russian OK. And neither does the US.

Russia now has the military might in Syria to thwart any attempt on Iran, complete with the Dmitri Donskoy (TK-208), Typhoon class with 20 Bulava class ICBMs with 6-10 warheads each.

The unreliable moniker was pinned on them back in the Arafat days, by Jew haters and anti-Zionists, mostly lefties.
