The new Orwellian speech policy being considered by the UC Board of Regents
In yet another descent into Orwellianism, on Thursday, the Regents of the University of Californias Committee on Education Policy will attempt to formulate an agenda for students and faculty that amounts to nothing more than a censorship free pass by establishing a right not to be offended.
The Statement of Principles Against Intolerance is a compendium of progressive contradictions that begins by stating the University of California (UC) is committed to protecting its bedrock values of respect, inclusion, and academic freedom, as well as free expression and the open exchange of ideas that are principles enshrined in our national and state Constitutions and part of the universitys fiber.
Cloward-Piven them.
File so many complaints about being “offended” that they throw their hands up in disgust and abolish the policy.
We have to put the effort into beating them at their own game.
Janet Napolitano is only mentioned at the end of the article, but rest assured, she’s behind all this.
How very tolerant of them.
Don't know what version of a Constitution these promoters of The New Dark Ages are referring to, but it looks nothing like mine.
Of course, it is industrial-strength cognitive dissonance that allows that to exist, but fortunately, I am under no obligation whatsoever to honor their ignorance and arrogance.
The only results of their ignorance that I can see is an increasing degeneration of the "Social Contract," where some subcultures see that position as license to commit arson, mayhem, rape and random murder and other violence.
This can't end well.
I’m offended by that.
