Many of the southern states moved their GOP primaries to around March 1.

Previously, as with my state, the GOP primary was held so late in the spring that the nominee was already determined weeks earlier.

The South is in play for the 2016 GOP primary season.

[My state’s primary will be 13 weeks earlier than it was in 2008 and 2012.]
