You can buy 20 book tokens for just under $10/book. That’s what I have done for years. When you put books in your cart they automatically apply a token. So as you shop look for any book on sale that is priced less than $10 and deselect the applied token check box. I have gotten many books for $1.99 or $2.99 when they had a special going on. For 10-20 hours of listening I think its a great bargain. I have every Terry Pratchett book, as one example. I used to be a voracious reader, now I need my hands free so I am a voracious listener.
I also have a children’s library selection on my Itunes and I give ipads with classic stories like Odds Bodkins, Rabbit Ears and Jay O Callahan. I make them for the child’s age and swap out to older fare as they grow. Those are all bought as downloads from the author or cds so I can gift each grandchild without copyright infringement just as though I was reading to them
