The Facts
US troops have been mobilized in South Korea after Kim Jong-un ordered his military generals to ready for a state of war. US troops' vehicles were mobilized in the South Korean town of Paju, bordering North Korea.
North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un ordered military generals to ready for a state of war from 5:00 p.m. local time Friday.
By 4:30 PM local time, the North Korean leader said preparations were complete, declaring a "quasi-state of war."
South Korean news agency Yonhap says satellite imagery shows North Korea moving missiles in preparation for possible launch. South Korea's defense ministry could not confirm these claims.
The declaration came after North Korea traded artillery fire with neighboring South Korea over the latter's use of a loudspeaker to broadcast propaganda into the communist country.
Both sides started using loudspeakers to broadcast propaganda since the early 1990s, but agreed to discontinue their use in 2004. The silence lasted for more than a decade until recently when South Korea began resuming their transmission of propaganda aimed at the north.
North Korea had threatened further military action if the loudspeaker broadcasts do not stop within 48 hours.
The best response is to do absolutely nothing, he’s just a child throwing a temper tantrum. Now if the lob a she’ll over the border, then respond x 10.
SK troops ain’t no joke. They’ll cut your heart out while smiling at you. My opinion is that NK is the most overrated military since Spain in 1898.
Plan B BUG OUT
Tung-il!!
Loudspeakers? A pretty flimsy excuse to go to war over. If they’re broadcasting in rap I can justify the North’s reaction.
N.Korea, Obama’s Army of Hasan,
and Iran are on the same page.
Somebody once said the North Korea has thousands of missiles with chemical weapons that could reach Seoul South Korea with on like 30 miles from the border.
Obama’s probably got the NSA searching satellite data for the best location for a surrender ceremony.
The great thing about “weapons of mass destruction” is that it is up to the responding country as to which one to use to retaliate. If you hit me with chemical or biological weapons, I can strike back with nuclear weapons. Since the United States has eschewed chemical and biological, we only have nuclear weapons now.
Translation: The Norks want us to send them another check.
They must be getting hungrier over there and it doesn’t look like a good winter. Time to rattle the sabers. It must be tough to get to a state of war readiness against an enemy who becomes bellicose at the drop of a hat every other week. Maybe that’s the plan.
Probably a smart move on their part. I imagine they were dancing in their palaces when Bush and Clinton both rewarded their bad behavior with treasure. Now with Iran getting everything it wants and more with nothing in return, why not stick your hand out?
If doing absolutely nothing means not gearing up in case the threat is real, and retaliating after a bunch of folks are slaughtered for not being prepared, then I'm glad you're not in a command position....
Considering there is an ongoing US-SK exercise occurring, the sight of soldiers in trucks is amazingly non newsworthy.
