The question you should be asking is, if teaching sucks so badly, why don't you all quit?

There is zero, zilch, nada preventing you from leaving the profession. Yet thanks to the teachers themselves, through their unions, the barriers to entry for anyone else, outside of 19 year old recent education major grads, are substantial. Why would a profession that is so gawdawful and that merits such incessant whining strive so hard to keep everyone else out?
