Looks like “law enforcement” took notes during the Branch Davidian murders/massacre perpetrated by Reno and company and they like the thought of being able to shoot/arrest people “just because they want to”..

Old Janet Reno. I remember a live interview that she did right after the Waco Massacre where she was asked why they chose to attack and kill the Branch Davidians. She replied, “that the FBI and other forces had been on line for 30 days. They were tired and had to be rotated out.” It was better to kill the Davidians than rotate.

The government always has a way to kill and not be held responsible. Funny, I heard the live interview at the scene and never again.

More than taking notes...

W. Patrick Swanton was the spokesperson early on in the incident. From his CV at the link:

Sgt. Swanton is currently the team leader over the Crisis Intervention Unit. While in Special Operations he furthered his training by attending a course provided by the National Guard on helicopter assaults and courses on basic through advanced S.W.A.T. Team Tactics. While in Special Operations Swanton was also involved in the aftermath at Mount Carmel and was awarded the Police Commendation bar along with his other teammates for their involvement.
