Perot wasn’t to blame. Bush I had completely abandoned Reagan that he was vulnerable. He almost lost to Buchanan in the primaries.

Perot did not strike any chord with the leftists - his constituency was mostly disaffected conservatives (like myself) who, in the absence of Perot, would have voted against Clinton (as opposed to voting for Bush).

The third party vote, including mine, gave us the Clintons.

GHWB almost lost to Buchanan in the primaries.

Unfortunately, it never happened; Republican primary voters are too liberal for Pat Buchanan.
